This rather sizeable project began with the post-and-beam framesets of two early 19th-century barns, which were disassembled at their original locations in Sandisfield and brought to this new site on Brewer Hill in New Marlboro. The framesets were then rebuilt and became the base for one wing of this massive structure, with over 3,000 square feet of living and studio space.
The exposed weathered beams and hand-hewn pegs add a charming country aesthetic to the interiors, while the liberal distribution of windows throughout the design provide glorious natural light. Upon completion, this home was showcased in Berkshire HomeStyle magazine.
